Samuel Whitbread Community College is a specialist engineering school serving the rural communities around the small market town of Shefford in Mid Bedfordshire. As well as a popular and expanding comprehensive school for Years 9-13, it contains a nursery school and facilities for adult education.
The school site has been extensively updated so that it contains new facilities and department space.
The College's location on a bend in the main road through the small village of Clifton causes considerable problems to other road users and people trying to get to work as parents drop off children for school in the morning.
There is an astonishing quantity of litter, mainly confectionery wrappings and soft drinks containers, left on the grass verges, in ditches and in hedgerows around the school. The rest of the surrounding area is remarkably litter free.
The new buildings were officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 17th November 2006.
Samuel Whitbread's current Principal is Mr. Rob Robson
