Samuel Johnson (actor)

Samuel Johnson (Born 1977 or early 1978)' is an Australian actor.

He is a voiceover artist on Network Ten, promoting advertisements for upcoming shows. Appeared in the hit tv show Ocean Girl as 'Rockie'(1995) .He also appeared in 2001 as one of the main characters, Evan Wylde on The Secret Life of Us also on Network Ten, for which he received an AFI award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Television Drama Series. In 2002 he appeared in the Australian movie Crackerjack.[1]

In 2004 he ventured on a round-Australia unicycle trip to raise funds for the charity CanTeen.[2]

He was a presenter on Nova FM in Melbourne but resigned in mid 2006 [3] following the suicide of his girlfriend Lainie Woodlands on February 5, 2006.[4]

On 24th October 2007 in a statement released he stated that he would be pleading guilty to an assault charge which occurred at Star City Casino and Hotel on 1st September.

Also from the 10th-15th of March 2008, Samuel and his current girlfriend Sarah Hallam were part of Open Family Australia's Chatterbox Youth Arts Initiative that gave twelve young people under the age of 25 the amazing opportunity to be involved in the production of a short film.

This project was coordinated by Todd Jasper and provided participants with access to some of Australia’s most respected industry professionals in both acting and technical expertise:

Bill Hunter - Acclaimed Australian actor with over 40 years experience. Alkinos Tsilimidos - Director/Writer of several short and feature films. Sarah Hallam - Casting Director, Actor and Project Committee Member. Colin Mowbray - Director/Writer of many short films. Joel Edgerton – Acclaimed Australian Actor. Alistair Marks - Director/Writer.

The short film is in the progress of being written into a script and is soon to be filmed. There has been considerable media interest, and the project coordinators and participants hope for high ratings.
