Prisoner 97G141, Samuel Gougeon. Convicted in August 5, 1997 for manslaughter. Sentence of 19 years, up for parole in 10.

Samuel Gougeon was convicted after killing a hunter during a hunt. He was a background character, a Christian who decided to become Catholic.

Samuel Gougeon can be seen in Emerald City's background.

As a Christian, Gougeon can be seen with Harden and Schirner around Emerald City. Gougeon supported William Cudney's attempt to make the inmates stop watching Miss Sally's Schoolyard. The tension grew and Emerald City was locked down for some minutes.

In the first half of this extended season, Gougeon, Harden, and the other Christians are transferred out of Em City on orders from Martin Querns. When Querns is fired all wrongfully transferred prisoners are returned. Reverend Jeremiah Cloutier arrived during the second half and started converting Catholic inmates. Although, Gougeon decided leave the flock and asked Father Mukada to convert him to Catholicism. Angry, Timmy Kirk paid James Robson and the Aryan Brotherhood to beat up Gougeon. They did it and Gougeon was sent to the hospital badly injured. Angry, Father Mukada accused Cloutier of asking someone to hurt Gougeon for envy.

It's not known if Gougeon left the Protestants, but he is back to Emerald City. To take his men out of Zahir Arif's book-binding lab, Burr Redding decided to destroy his machines. He paid CO Jason Armstrong to let him in and obligated Gougeon to destroy the machines. While praying, Gougeon threw some liquid in the machines, destroying them.
