Samuel Crossland

Samuel Moorhouse Crossland was a first class cricketer who played 4 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1883 and 1886.

A wicket keeper, he took 3 catches and completed 5 stumpings. He scored 32 runs as a right hand lower order batsman, with a best of 20 against Kent CCC, at an average of 8.

His father, Andrew Crossland, had played in 8 first class matches for Yorkshire before the formation of the County Championship from 1844 to 1855.

Born on August 16, 1851 in Leeds he died on April 11, 1906 in Wakefield.
