Samuel Augustus Mitchell

Samuel Augustus Mitchell (1792, Bristol, Connecticut – December 20, 1868, Philadelphia) was an American geographer.
Mitchell worked as a teacher before turning to publish geography textbooks and maps. Sales of his 24 works reached an annual sale of over 400,000 copies[1]
