Jackson, Sammy (1937 - April 24, 1995) was an American actor and country music disc jockey.
Born in Henderson, North Carolina, Jackson began working on-air in radio in 1968 while also acting in a number of motion pictures and doing guest roles in television series. In 1964-1965, he starred in the ABC television sitcom, "No Time for Sergeants".
Jackson was voted "Best Country Jock of the Year" at the 1973 Billboard Radio Programming Forum[citation needed]. In 1980 he was voted the Country Music Association Country personality of the year.[citation needed] In the 1980s, Jackson worked for a radio station in Las Vegas and in 1992 starred in the pilot film, "Casino."
