From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dr. Samin K. Sharma is a U.S. interventional cardiologist holding the American record for the highest number of complex coronary interventions performed annually, along with the highest angioplasty success rate in New York State.[1] His other procedural specialties include the catheter-based treatment of mitral and aortic stenosis (balloon valvuloplasty).

[edit] Biography

Dr. Sharma is currently Director of Interventional Cardiology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Under his leadership, the Catheterization Laboratory at Mount Sinai Hospital was incorporated into Mount Sinai Heart--an effort to combine Mount Sinai's cardiac care resources. In 1998, Dr. Sharma founded the Live Symposium of Complex Coronary Cases (CCC Symposium), where he remains a course director and which is attended by over 400 delegates annually. He is the Vice-President of the Rajasthan Development Foundation in India and serves on the Cardiac Advisory Board of New York State, which advises the New York Department of Health and the Govenor's office on heart care in New York hospitals.
