Samayanallur(Madurai, TamilNadu, India. The main town just lies between the strip formed by the NH7 and Rail Track. Samayanallur has St.Joseph's Middle School, a school that is going to celebrate its Platinum Jubilee. In the Center of the campus is the old Catholic Church. Many of the Alumni of the school are now Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers and Entrepreneurs. There is a Government School as well in Samayanallur.

The majority of the people are Hindus, followed by Christians and Muslims. Most of the people do business or some work in Madurai. The major source of income was agriculture though it is not the same today.

Samayanallur has Thirumagal Cinema Theatre, the only local entertainment center. They run three shows Matinee, Evening and Night Show. The youth of the town used to go to Vaigai River Bank, Pull Ootru and Naagar Theertham. At this point of time one would hardly go to Vaigai bank as there is neither sand not the water is available. Pull Ootru is still a nice Brook located in NagaMalai, a hill ranges Madurai. The Theme Park "Adisayam" is a recent development, where in people from Madurai City come here for recreation.
Since Madurai is the major town nearby, people prefer going there and elsewhere for entertainment.

Lord Veera BathiraSwamy regins from Veeraiah Temple which is located in Agraharam, Samayanallur. The prominent festival of Samayanallur is Veeraiah Kovil Thiruvizha. It is celebrated once in four years subject to the unity of various groups in the town. This festival is a week long festival. It ends with famous “Valli Thirumana Nadagam” and “Arichandiran Nadagam”.
