Samaresh Majumdar

Samaresh Majumdar (Bangla: সমরেশ মজুমদার) is a well known comtemporary Bengali writer. He spent his childhood years in the tea gardens in Duars, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, India. He was a student of the Jalpaiguri District School. He completed his bachelors in Bengali from Scottish Church College, Kolkata. His first story appeared in "Desh" (a Bengali magazine) in 1967. "Dour" (Run) was his first novel, which was published in "Desh" in 1976.
