Samantha "Sam" McPherson is a fictional character in The WB series Popular. She is the main character along with her rival stepsister Brooke McQueen. She is portrayed by Carly Pope.

[edit] Unpopular, But Ambitious
In Season 1, Sam appears as the unpopular girl. She along with her best friends Harrison, Lily, and Carmen are teased by the "popular" crowd. Things don't go well, when she is forced to be lab partners with her popular rival Brooke McQueen. While she is partners with her, Sam finally becomes friends with her.
[edit] Rivalry With Brooke
The rivalry begins when she along with Brooke discover that their parents are engaged. The two were forced to get along and put their social status aside. The two were forced to have a "family" dinner which turned ugly and they both were forced to move in together. The two continued to clash heads, but later got along in Season 2. She and Brooke Do get into many fights in the 2 season about boys.
