Sam (Life with Derek)

Sam is a fictional character from the Canadian TV series Life with Derek. He is played by Kit Weyman.

Sam was Casey's boyfriend and is Derek's best friend and Hockey teammate. Unlike Derek, who is macho and very demanding, Sam is more kind and quiet.
When Sam was first introduced in the episode "The Fall", it is plain to see that he and Casey were attracted to each other. However, they do not officially become a couple until the season one finale episode "Male Code Blue". They continued dating for a month until they hit a couple of minor snags in their relationship, namely:
- Casey becomes preoccupied worrying about Derek and Emily's first date than celebrating her "month-aversary" with Sam.
- In the episode "Middle Manic", Casey becomes annoyed with Sam's laid-back attitude and decides to break up with him. They then decide to make up and then break up again. By the end of the episode they decide to break up for good, which makes Derek very happy.
Even though Sam is no longer dating Casey, they still decided to be friends and even became members of Derek's rock band, "D-Rock".
Sam still appears on the show occasionally. His latest appearance on the show was during the episode "Derek Un-Done".
