SamSam was created by Serge Bloch in association with Bayard Presse. His son who inspired him to based the character on him

As well as being a HDTV programme SamSam is also a comic that is printed in many of Bayard Presse's magazines such as Pomme D'Api (French) and StoryBox[1] (English).

SamSam has been shown on TV in many countries around the world as well as in many different languages (English, French, Cantonese, Arabic, Spanish, etc).

In the UK SamSam was shown on Action Station (ITV4) at 6am and on weekends in the "Wakey Wakey show". It is also on ABC in Australia, France 5 in France, as well as being shown in Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the USA, Canada, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, Iceland, Portugal, Poland, the UAE and Israel.

SAMSAM

Young children will identify with SamSam, a superhero of 5/6 years old with superpowers: SamZeyes and SamZears that give him super vision and hearing. His SamCape lets him fly, and he goes to SamSchool every day. He travels through space on his SamSaucer, armed with his BiffBoffer to fight off monsters... A SamRay on the roof of his SamHouse lets him send long-distance messages or zap spaceships. We learn about his relationships with his parents, his school friends, his teacher, the monsters that lie in wait for him - and with SamTeddy.


SAMTEDDY

SamTeddy accompanies SamSam everywhere - except to school. For SamSam, he's like a little brother. Needy, always wanting to tag along and full of admiration, SamTeddy inspires SamSam to ever greater exploits.


SAMSAM's PARENTS

SamMummy and SamDaddy are heroes like SamSam. They are supportive, while leaving him a surprising degree of autonomy. They are a modern couple, affectionate, different yet complementary.


SUPERJULIE

SuperJulie is SamSam's special friend. Everyone at school is a bit in love with her - except SamSam - girls don't interest him... yet.


WOTAMESS

WotaMess lives next door to SamSam, and is quite different from him. He's always filthy, and if he doesn't have many friends it's because frankly - he smells... SamMummy doesn't appreciate him, but SamSam really enjoys his company.


SWEETPEA

SweetPea is one of SamSam's best friends. He's a refugee from the planet Marth and it's tyrannical ruler Marthial I. Usually sensitive and gentle, he can explode with rage - particularly if he's teased because, like most Marthians, he lisps...


THE BIGBADREAM

A huge monster that SamSam feared the most - till he discovered that he could make him shrink by tickling him.


THE MARTHIANS AND THEIR KING MARTHIAL I

SamSam has problems with the inhabitants of the planet Marth and their king. They are very touchy, and relations with them call for a lot of diplomacy - particularly when there's a question of words with an "s" in them, which they can't pronounce ...


THE PIRATROCITIES

Horrible creatures, they scour the galaxy led by their ferocious captain, who is particularly incensed because he can't remember where he hid his treasure. The Piratrocities pick up anything shiny that they can find. Forever polluting space, they are SamSam's sworn enemies. He tries to avoid them, but it's not always easy...
