Cleanup

Hello, Sallyrob/Archive 001!

Hello, Sallyrob/Archive 001! I'm Clamster5. While creating new and interesting articles is extremely helpful to the Wikipedia project, there are more than 19,000 articles that need to cleaned up. These articles could use your knowledge and time. There are so many pages currently needing clean-up that there is guaranteed to be something that you find interesting. Even fixing up just one is a huge help. If every editor on wikipedia edited just one article each, the backlog would be cleared in no time.

Thanks! Clamster5.

License tagging for Image:Beecham.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Beecham.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:05, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Redwood City, 'Climate Best...'

SallyRob, thanks for your entry in the Redwood City. Unfortunately that item is already list under Trivia - the first item. In addition, your entry is broad and uncited, making it questionable. Lastly, the actual origin of this phrase remains a item of contraversy. As a member of the Redwood City Historical Associaiton (Archive group and others) this item is well known, and the origin has many possible origins - one of which is stated on the website.

In addition, the misfortune of finding your work falls upon me to have you make correcitons. On this, I will be happy to assist as I can.

Corrections that would be helpful:

  1. Please cite your entries when possible. Uncited entries might be removed by other editors with less sympathy.
  2. I note you write 'Interview with' and 'Eyewitness accounts'. These are not acceptable forms of citation, unless they have been published. If the have been published, those sources must be stated.
  3. Please search for an article before creating one. I note an article for San Francisco de Asis; there is an article already existing Mission San Francisco de Asis
  4. When you write a new article, it should be of importance. Article of persons which are important in an encycolpedic nature. For instance, your article on Ralph Bredenberg bears no importance. While he might be good person and important to SMC, there is no relationship that makes his entry encycolpedic. As such, I have marked it for deletion.
  5. If you write a new and valid article, and it is not complete, please add a {{stub}} and [[category:of some type]]

You are invited to make other entries with citations, when possible. My asisstance is always available. Best Regards --meatclerk 23:25, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Concerto in F

Hi Sallyrob! Please note that the article you created at Concerto in F has been proposed for deletion. This is because the article Concerto in F (Gershwin) already exists and is much more complete. I think that Concerto in F should be made into a redirect to the larger article. You may wish to weigh in on this at the article's talk page. --Tkynerd 00:04, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Hi again

Hi SallyRob, I assume two people are editing. I also note many editing errors. Please use {{help me}} for help. In addition, I would be happy to help, but making corrections without communicating is not helpful. Concerto in F is once again marked for deletion. SallyRob

Hi! SallyRob is my user name since I share my E-mail with my wife Sally. I am Rob Nylund and currently live in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I lived for over 40 years in San Bruno, California, and wrote for the San Bruno Herald from 1964 to 1969; after that I occasionally contributed to the paper, which ceased publication a couple of years ago. I was an editor, reporter, and photographer for the Allen County Times in New Haven, Indiana, from 1994 to 1997 and 2000 to 2002; that newspaper is also no longer publishing. I visit the San Francisco Bay Area at least once a year and remain in touch with family and friends there. 28 November 2006 Sallyrob 13:01, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Robert E. Nylund

Hi Rob, thanks for replying. I note your entries are well conceive. Please excuse my bad grammer and bad spelting from time to time. :0
I suggest a good starting point would be to add that small clip about you to your User page (sorry I can't give you a link, I am at the library right now, the browser is slightly disable.). This information will help everyone know you and assist you. Its too bad you don't live in the Bay Area anymore. I live in Menlo Park and work in Redwood City; hence, my catching your addition to that article. Nonetheless, I will be happy to assist you as I can - given our distance.
If you worked for a local paper, then perhaps printed copies are available somewhere. If they are, I will be happy to research those points and add them as needed.
As I have mentioned I am a local volunteer historian, but I did not always live here. Until I was 17 I live in Los Baños, California, you might know where that is at. Then from 1995 till about 2000, I live in Sunol, El Seguno and San Jose, all dot-com jobs. Today I work as a grovery store clerk; the pay is barely adequate, but I have benefits. So, I do not know the history of this area all that well. I am learning as I read, explore and discover.
Returning to your present work, it seems you sufficent time to work on Wikipedia, as such you have more time that I do. Nonetheless, let us choose an article I could help you with, and remove any 'tags' I might have added. If you like, I can choose.
Lastly, I should inform you that starting Spring of 2007, myself and several friends will be working on the History of Music in the Bay Area. I have many friends that played Rock and Roll. I also have another set of friends that know 60's and earlier music. I was also a orchestra musican at Cañada College (ca 1980). In the Spring of 2006, I spoke to the new music director. He agreed to assist, and search for any possible archives. For this, I plan to write a book entitled the History of Music for San Mateo Community Colleges. Expected completion, Spring 2009.
With that, I hope to be able to chat with you more often. Even via this limited means.
Respectfully, --meatclerk 23:14, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
