[edit] Eurasian and East Asian Salvelinus
There appear to be 15 or 20 sp. and ssp. in Siberia, East Asia, etc. with no articles. Probably there are experts in Russia etc. who could write the articles but aren't so comfortable with Wiki conventions. There must be an opportunity for international collaboration here. 76.80.26.121 17:45, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] =Adding authors to taxon lists
This should only be done by experts. The orthography of taxon authors follows specific rules different from normal writing; specifically, parentheses are mandatory iun some dcases and prohibited in others. Whoever added the authors here apparently made parentheses around every citation. This is wrong and needs to be fixed.
If a taxon has its own article, its taxonomic author shoud never be given in a list on genus or similar pages, or in the text; if the genus (etc) page gives an author, it should be deleted there and moved to the species page. The taxobox is the proper place for it; everything else leads to errors (such as people giving the author name as part of the taxon name, which is wrong) Dysmorodrepanis (talk) 10:38, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
