Talk:Salt Lake City, Utah/peer review 1
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are about 4 people who regularly contribute to this article, mostly locals. I believe this is a very comprehensive article for a city of its size and it would be great to have an outside point of view to make sure we aren't leaving anything out/assuming certain knowledge. Also, a review of its companion history article, History of Salt Lake City, would be great. Thanks. [[User:JonMoore|Jon, Conqueror of Men | (Talk!)]] 20:46, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- I'd very nearly support this for featured status as is, but I've still got a few suggestions first. a) Would it be possible to move the top picture into the infobox? b) The culture, media and economy sections are very short, and need expanding. I'm not sure about Recreation and Sports - I'd like to see that section a bit longer, but the article is already quite long. c) The education section could perhaps be moved to its own article and summarised to keep the article size down, and the universities list could perhaps be in prose rather than list form. d) Would it be possible to rewrite the opening of the geography section and the demographics section in such a way that doesn't make it instantly obvious the material came from Rambot? These are all comparatively minor quibbles, though - this is one fine article. Ambi 03:45, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- I've never lived in Salt Lake City, but growing up in southern Idaho, I've been there quite a bit, and the article describes a decent amount of what the city is like. It doesn't mention the music scene at all, which is a lot larger than you'd expect from a city its size. The picture of the bus overlaps some text, and needs to be moved down. I would like to hear more about how many churches are in the area, and a break-down of the denominations. Maybe more about the Mormon churches involvement in local politics, and what influence the LDS church has over Temple Square, and what impact it has. Celebes 04:36, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)
