1- Salmas is spelled سلماس in persian. and سلمس is kurdish pronunciation for salmasş 2- the term "kurdish region of iran" is disputed, while salmas is located in west AZERBAIJAN province. 3- population of salmas is composed of both azeris and kurd, but kurds are in rural area and azeris are dominant in the city. 4- the etymon of the city is not cited --Dr.Hamed 19:10, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
