Talk:Saleen, Incorporated
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I was pleased to see an entry for Saleen in Wikipedia, but I already see one mistake that needs clarification. Steve Saleen was never a Formula 1 driver. He had an early career as a Formula Atlanta competitor, which is a big difference. I worked for Steve in 1988-'89 as a public relations coordinator and in 2004 published The Saleen Book: 20 Years of Saleen Mustangs, a 430-page history of the company I wrote with total cooperation from Steve, his wife Liz and the entire staff. My thanks to whomever created the Wikipedia entry.
I notice a lot of edits to remove information from the page without justification. Lots of the information that gets removed appears in the Saleen dealer order guides that were sent to Saleen dealerships but aren't on their website yet. 70.181.120.121 20:22, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
Anecdotally, it will be probably be difficult to come up with a proper list of references/sources as much of the information in the entry appears to depend upon sources from inside the company. 68.61.121.29 02:28, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 2005 Model line
I updated the page for the 2005 Model line. It claims that the S7 and the S7 Twin Turbo are seperate cars, yet according to Saleen's website and other material I have researched in print and online (mostly to write the Saleen S7 article, I can only find mention of one S7 that is being released in the 2005 model year, which is the Turbo model. Any other input? I've fixed the Saleen page to reflect this, but will change it back if someone has evidence to suggest otherwise. JogCon 06:07, 3 August 2005 (UTC)
The S7 N/A (2004 and earlier) is no longer manufactured. The S7 TT is the only version of the car being sold now, with the differing horsepower-rated editions.
[edit] Transformers Movie Appearances
Here's a german movie-spy website, with a series of photos documenting both the police package Mustang, and the Camaro with a Saleen license plate. Forum Thread
