Salyer is a tiny unincorporated community of 645 in Trinity County, California.

Salyer is located on State Highway 299, 52 miles (84 km) east of Eureka and 93 miles (150 km) west of Redding.

In the state legislature Salyer is located in the 4th Senate District, represented by Republican Sam Aanestad, and in the 1st Assembly District, represented by Democrat Patty Berg. Federally, Salyer is located in California's 2nd congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +13^[1] and is represented by Republican Wally Herger.
