Salvador Escalante

Salvador Escalante is a municipality located in the Mexican state of Michoacán. The municipality has an area of 487.98 square kilometres (0.82% of the surface of the state) and is bordered to the north by the municipalities of Tingambato and Pátzcuaro, to the east by Huiramba and Tacámbaro, to south by Ario, and to the west by Taretán and Ziracuaretiro. The municipality had a population of 38,502 inhabitants according to the 2005 census. [1] Its municipal seat is the city of Santa Clara del Cobre.
