Salto (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: Saltu), is a village located approximately 15 km northeast of the island capital of Sao Filipe and southwest of Mosteiros in the northern part of the island of Fogo, Cape Verde. Salto are is linked with the main road linking with a road encircling the island.

The area around Salto contains farmlands in the areas that are about 1.5 km within the coastline, the Chã das Caldeiras lies to the south, the Atlantic Ocean can be seen to the south and west. The living standards are in the low range as well as its income, one time, there were no money until the late-20th century. The village is in the island's middle class class. All of its houses are built with mud brick and stone. Much its population are farmers and are based in agriculture where banana plantations, pineapple and other crops are common. However, a part of the needy materials comes from the island capital, the island capital and the diaspora. But for other needs, electricity, communications and appliances are partially available in the area as well as phone lines since the mid to late-20th century. A part of the necessities also comes from the island capital.
