Salten-Schlern (Salto-Sciliar) (Italian: Salto-Sciliar, German: Salten-Schlern) is a district (Italian: comprensorio, German: Bezirksgemeinschaft) in the province of Bolzano, Italy. It comprises the lower part of the valley of the Isarco River, from Waidbruck to Bolzano. It is named after the plateau Salten and the mountain Sciliar (Schlern in German). According to the 2001 census, 77% of the population of Salten-Schlern speaks German as first language, 19% Ladin, and 4% Italian. The seat of the district is in Bolzano, itself not part of the district.
