Salome Reischer

Salome Reischer (born 19 February 1899 - died 1980) was an Austrian female chess master.[1]

In 1937, she tied for 17-20th in the 6th Women's World Chess Championship at Stockholm 1937 (Vera Menchik won).[2] After Anschluss, she moved initially to Palestine and then, via Argentina to the United States.[3]

In 1939, she tied for 14-16th in the 7th WWCC at Buenos Aires 1939 (Menchik won).[4] After World War II, Reischer came back to Austria. She won thrice Austrian Chess Championship, at Melk 1950, Graz 1952, and Pöchlarn 1954.[5]

She was awarded the Woman International Master title in 1952.[6]
