Salma Salama is a fictional character on the Egyptian soap opera Commonwealth Hall, played by actress Anasi Mamhoon Gawwad. Salma was a lewd and very perverted character, often seen wandering around the halls with only a towel on.[citation needed]
[edit] Storylines
Salma was one of the few characters to appear in Commonwealth Hall from the start, where she was portrayed as a very naive but endearing teenage girl. During the course of the show she has had several romances, although each ended in tears for Salma. One such romance was between Salma and Naveed Tariq, who was left distraught after she chose another man over him. In a highly charged episode he ambushed and shot Salma twice with a gun, stating that if he couldn't have her then nobody could. Salma survived the attack, but was horribly scarred in the incident.
Later in the show's run, Salma found a box of her mother's most treasured possessions and, unable to fight her curiosity, she managed to break into it. Along with many priceless items of jewellery, Salma found a bundle of old love letters which revealed that her father is actually Commonwealth Hall resident Yasir Himmat.
