Sally Perdue is known as a former Miss Arkansas (1958) and local radio talk show host.

Sunday Telegraph’s Washington correspondent, Ambrose Evans-Pritchard broke a story about Sally Perdue claiming to be a former lover of Bill Clinton’s in January of 1994. The paper put it on page one: "I was threatened after Clinton affair' Ex-beauty queen fuels presidential scandal" The 2,271 word report gave the detailed claims of Perdue. She claimed that after she went public with her claim about her relationship with Clinton, she was visited by two men that threatened to break her legs. The story in the Sunday Telegraph, a quality British newspaper, led to stories appearing in the British tabloid press. The tabloid Daily Mirror told the story on January 25, 1994 under the headline Sexy Bill Wore My Nightie. The same date the tabloid Daily Mail story headline was: Clinton Mistress Demands Inquiry into his Sex Trysts. In the story she claims she sang "He's Just My Bill" to Clinton. She claims he called her my "Long Tall Sally." Perdue claimed that she had a four-month affair with Clinton after they met in 1983. Perdue says that they had sex in her Little Rock apartment. Perdue claimed State Arkansas troopers regularly drove Clinton to her condominium at Andover Square. "They'd pull up in a wooded area about thirty feet from the house and wait there," she told. She revealed Clinton's typical routine: he'd drink a few Budweiser beers first.

When Perdue went public with her story, on Aug. 19, she had a 3 1/2 hour meeting at the Chesire Inn in Clayton, Missouri with a Ron Tucker claiming to be with the DNC. "He said that there were people in high places who were anxious about me and they wanted me to know that keeping my mouth shut would be worthwhile . . . If I was a good little girl, and didn't kill the messenger, I'd be set for life: a federal job, nothing fancy but a regular paycheck, Level 11 or 12 ($60,000 a year). I'd never have to worry again." "But if I didn't take the offer, then they knew that I went jogging by myself and he couldn't guarantee what would happen to my pretty little legs. Things just wouldn't be so much fun for me anymore. Life would get hard." Denison Diel who works with Perdue was at the bar near them and heard all of the alleged conversation, he wrote a report to the FBI. Perdue did not take Tucker's warnings, nor the job. Then she received threatening mail and telephone calls (one letter read: "I'll pray you have a head-on collision and end up in a coma. . . Marilyn Monroe got snuffed"). She also told the Sunday Telegraph, Bill once came over to her house with a bag full of cocaine. He had all the equipment laid out, like a real pro. Perdue noted: "He saw my Steinway grand piano and went straight over to it and asked me to play. " Bill played the saxophone and they sometimes would play '50s rock songs together. Their musical interests led to sex. Perdue said: "he had this little boy quality I found very attractive."

At the time of the of the Sunday Telegraph story she lived in St. Louis and worked with adults who have Downs syndrome.

Most of the US media did not run the story. Later she did appeared on the Sally Jesse Raphael show.
