Sally Dexter

Sally Julia Dexter (born 15 April 1960), is a highly respected English actress of stage and screen.

She was educated at The Henley College[1] and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

Her many on screen appearances have included A Touch Of Frost, Dalziel and Pascoe and Family as well as the long-running Night and Day.

She has also established a lumimous stage career, having delivered many critically acclaimed performances in productions in London's West End including Nancy in Lionel Bart's musical of Oliver!

Roles with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company have included playing Lady Macbeth opposite Rufus Sewell's Macbeth; Anna, in the original production of Patrick Marber's 'Closer' and Billy Elliot The Musical. Sally played Mrs Wilkinson in the West End show for 12 months and left the cast with Leon Cooke in June 2007 to standing ovations.

She was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1987 for Most Promising Newcomer for her 1986 performance in "Dalliance". She has since been nominated again in 1995 and 1998

A highly accomplished singer and performer, Sally has most recently starred in Bad Girls - the Musical at the Garrick Theatre, London (opened 12th September 2007).
