Saligramam is a part of Chennai corporation. The Tamil Nadu film industry is gradually shifting from Kodambakkam to Saligramam. Popular cinema studios of Tamil Nadu exist here.
Saligramam has SSR Pankajam theatre and many popular Tamil cinema actors residence is located here.
It has good schools and marriage halls in surrounding locality. It is a very good residential area with super markets, shops and Bus Depot.
The landmark to this place is Balalok School where popular actors including Vijay have done their schooling.
There are many small temples in and around Saligramam. The most famous ones are the Shanakara Narayanan Temple, Raja Rajeswari Temple, Sathya Sai baba temple and the Bus stand Pillayar temple.
