Salem Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah

Sheikh Salem Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah (June 18, 1938October 8, 2007) was a senior member of the Al-Sabah royal family of Kuwait, as well the eldest son of the 12th Emir of Kuwait, HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. He served as the Ambassador of Kuwait in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and several other European countries from the early-Sixties to the mid Seventies. He then served as Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence minister, Foreign Minister, Interior Minister and Social Affairs Minister in different eras throughout his life time. He was also the Chairman of the Kuwait's POW and Kidnapped Committee, which even when he was seriously sick, his deputies at the committee would visit his home at Messila Palace to give him the latest news regarding the POW's in Iraq. Sheikh Salem is survived by his wife, Sheikha Badriya, and his four children. [1] He was the foreign minister of Kuwait from 1991 to 1992.
