Salem Al-Ali A-Sabah

Salem Al Ali Al Sabah is the Chief of the National Guard of Kuwait and the oldest member of the Al-Sabah family. He is well known for his efforts to bring unity to the family and discouraging bitterness between the two major branches, the Al-Jaber branch and the Al-Salem branch. Sheikh Salem currently ranks third in the family's hierarchy, right under Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Sheikh Salem is married to Sheikh Sabah's sister (Al-Anoud), who also happens to be the only full sister/sibling of Sheikh Sabah (The Emir).

Sheikh salem also recently donated 100 million kuwaiti dinars to bait il zakat charity to help the people of kuwait who are in need.

Sheikh salem has nine daughters and six sons.
