Salem is a passenger rail station on MBTA Commuter Rail's Newburyport/Rockport Line located in Salem, Massachusetts.[1] Salem is located at 252 Bridge Street, near the intersection of Massachusetts Route 107 and Massachusetts Route 114. In MBTA Commuter Rail's zone-based fare system, Salem is located in zone 3.
Salem station consists of one platform which serves a single track. A staircase provides access to the platform from Route 107. Immediately south of Salem, the train tracks enter the Salem Tunnel, which carries trains underneath Washington Street in Salem. Salem has a park and ride lot with 340 spaces at $2.00 each as well as 7 bicycle spaces. Tickets for Salem may be purchased at Red Lion Smoke Shop at 94 Washington Street; unlike other MBTA stations with nearby ticket sales locations, there is no surcharge for tickets purchased on the train at Salem.
