Salawat Yulayev

Salawat Yulayev (Bashkir: Салауат Юлаев; Russian: Салават Юлаев; c. 1754 — 26 September 1800, Paldiski) is a Bashkir national hero who participated at Pugachev's rebellion.Salawat Yulayev was born in the village of Tekeyevo of Shaytan-Kudeevsky volost of Ufa province of Orenburg Governorate(now Salavatsky District of the Republic of Bashkortostan). Now Tekeyevo doesn't exist, because it was burned in 1775. He is also famous as a poet.
Many things in modern-day Bashkortostan are named after Yulayev including a town, a hockey team, and the republic's State Prize.
