[edit] Aliens

is he the same race as allen and ann from the doom tree story line in some of his forms he is wering the same clothes

  • I doubt it, but his inspiration is clearly in the same direction. The movie was directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara, who also directed the series up until the end of S, and Fiore and Ail share a voice actor in Japanese. But anything further than that is speculation. Danny Lilithborne 19:26, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
    • Also, the Kisenian Flower shares the same voice actress with En in the Japanese versions of each. Which I thought was pretty neat. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 06:50, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
I think Xenian should be put as her main name (not just a mention). As the only source of her name appearing in roman letters is XENIAN (SMR Laser Disc cover) I think it would be safe to say that's her intended name and it should be used. ~ Fighter4luv 23:23, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Huh, that's interesting. Do you actually have the LD, and have personally verified it? --Masamage 06:22, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
I hate to say it (the name "Xenian" is horrible IMO), but Fighter4luv is right. However, by listening to the Japanese version (play in Winamp for best results), you can clearly hear a "ki" sound. -- RattleMan 07:18, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
LD Xenian. In fact the "ki" sound is meant. The first two characters that represent "kise" in katakana are approximating the sound "ks" because of the starting sound of the Greek word "Xenia". Xenian is based on the Xenia flower. The "an" part of "Xenian" is yet another pun, as with Fiore's full name "Fiorieiru" which uses a form of "eiri", which in this case is the "an" part of the word "eirian". ~ Fighter4luv 14:49, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Also, Susan Aceron did not voice the Kisenian Blossom. Her voice performer is still unknown, but some people seem to think it's Sabrina Grdevich. ~ Fighter4luv 00:58, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm. I have no idea. Your website says Sabrina Gredevich; is that not for sure? --Masamage 01:31, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
I am 100% sure that Susan Aceron didn't voice Kisenian Blossom as I contacted Susan and she explained to me that she only voiced "Sailor Pluto" in the Sailor Moon S season, and that's the only voice she did in the whole show. Since the voice actors of Fiore and Kisenian aren't listed in the R movie credits (no idea why they left out 2 voice performers), I am still unsure who did Kisenian and because of this her name is still placed in {curly brackets} which I explain at the top of my page which are the ones I am unsure of. In the dub's case, they couldn't do what the Japanese version did (using the previous alien voice performers), coz Alan was doing Tuxedo Mask... people have just assumed coz Sabrina did Ann, that she also did Kisenian. So, I am still trying to find a reliable source on Kisenian's voice. I'll let you know ASAP ~ Fighter4luv 08:05, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
So are we changing Kisenian to Xenian? ~ Fighter4luv 13:57, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
dvds with subs list it as kisenia and even the dub calls her kisenian ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 17:16, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Well, sure, but that just means Kisenian is her dub name. I'm okay with Xenian, because of the proof you provided. I'll mention it on the project page; give it a few days, and then let's make the change. --Masamage 18:08, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Is true that Kisenian is her dub name only, and Pioneer just subbed the characters with their Romanized Japanese names anyway. They have no clue of what the original names should be represented (if it ain't obvious like Fiore) as in the English language. They obviously didn't have a copy of the laser disc R movie. On the project page it goes! Then if no one has a problem with it, someone get to do ctrl-F and find all the Kisenian's, that aren't referring to the dub character, and change em. =P ~ Fighter4luv 23:01, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

done and I wish I knew about ctrl f when i was Italic/Un Italicing Senshi ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 11:14, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

well, you can always copy all the text out of a article and pop it into Microsoft Word. They have an awesome extra feature that comes with ctrl-F which is a "REPLACE" tab, and you can replace all the italicized "Senshi" to non-italics. This is done by using the shortcuts before writing anything into the second text space (ctrl-b, ctrl-i, etc.) It's a great way of going back over things later and fixing things. ~ Fighter4luv 12:14, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

I do it in Notepad, which has "find and replace" hidden under ctrl-F. It's not really useful to do a general replace, though, since sometimes the things just say ''Senshi'', sometimes ''Sailor Senshi'', etc. --Masamage 00:25, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

I know that Danny Lilithborne said that Fiore being related to Ail and En (Ann for those who don't agree with the naming pattern) is just pure speculation, but what two alien species would share the EXACT same outfit?? If you see Fiore before being possessed and after Xenian is destroyed, his outfit is exactly the same! even down to the small gem on the chest area... I'd say that's more than just inspiration, or they would have made his outfit something less obvious. I know everyone has spoken about it, I just wish Kunihiko Ikuhara would just admit it! ^_^ ~ Fighter4luv 10:43, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

how did he survive for so long with out the doom tree :} ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 11:50, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
You mean the Makaiju? lol. Well, it appears that the flower he had contained his energy and kept him alive ^_^. Aslong as they had feelings of love they would be fine I guess... well Ail and En had to survive while the tree re-grew anyway... ~ Fighter4luv 12:38, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
"what two alien species would share the EXACT same outfit??" -> This is making me giggle. The suggestion that clothing is an attribute of species is hilarious. I'm not saying it's wrong, just that it's silly and funny. --Masamage 21:52, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
In Sailor moon r when the makaiju showed them being born out of the pods they where all wering the same outfits so it might be a attribute ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 08:33, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Exactly! =P ~ Fighter4luv 10:16, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm just saying it's funny. --Masamage 20:03, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

The English-language voice talent credited on the (Japanese vocal, English subtitled ?!?!) movie is Terri Hawkes, Tracy Hoyt, Susan Roman, Karen Bernstein, Katie Griffin, Stephanie Morgenstern, Vince Corroza, Jill Frappier, and Ron Rubin. No Joel Feeney, no Susan Aceron, no Mary Long. Perhaps the credited actors dual-roled the Fiore and Xenian parts? -Malkinann (talk) 06:38, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright issue?

This article uses two screencaps; we're only allowed one. --Masamage 18:43, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Nevermind. :P --Masamage 20:03, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Move suggestion

I think the plot info here should be used to change it into a page about the R movie, with subprofiles for Fiore and Kisenian, as done in the SuperS movie article. --Masamage 23:40, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I've deleted the target page and completed the request, per above discussion. -GTBacchus(talk) 01:57, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] diffrences

should the difrance between the english and orignal be mention like the music i would have payed money to stop them changeing moon revenge with power of love and some of the attacks where changed the astroid became a planit (witch pepole would be more woried if a flipping planit was heading to earth) and not to forget ....moon mama sailor cuteness-ready for love 21:16, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Haha, Moon Mama. XD Yes, I think that all deserves a mention, probably in its own section like in the Sailor Moon episode 001 article. I need to rewatch this movie... --Masamage 22:47, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

make sure your brain dosn't fall out if you watch the dub sailor cuteness-ready for love 15:22, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

But then we would have to mention the differences with other languages, such as Spanish, German.... Raystorm 15:15, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Nope. Those are not in our scope. --Masamage 17:05, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
I see. That's quite disappointing. Raystorm 17:08, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Actually, it's a pretty standard Wikipedia thing. English WP discusses English variations; German WP discusses German variations. There's a place for everything. --Masamage 17:16, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Sailor Moon Uncensored already takes care of this problem. -- RattleMan 15:41, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Nevertheless, we should cover it a little and use them as a source. --Masamage 17:05, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Somebody's birthday...

Should we have it displayed somewhere that it was released at theatres on Sailor Jupiter's birthday (Dec 5)? ~ Fighter4luv 00:24, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Heh. I've never seen something like that brought up before, so I'm guessing no. WikiMoon's a good spot for it, though. --Masamage 00:47, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Original reference

Through extensive help from Lunar Archivist, I've got two images of the SMR Movie memorial book... the first is the caption that Ian Miller talked about... so we can link up the primary source, the second is the copyright info. フィオリエイル fiorieil is the full name of Fiore. Both Fiore and Kisenian are based on An and Eil. This is page 65. The book was published July/30/1994 the copyright is Takeuchi, and she's credited as the creator, however the author is listed as a joint effort between Kodansha, Takeuchi, etc. (i.e. it's unclear who actually wrote the book.) ISBN4-06-324553-5 . ^_^ Lunar Archivist is now flying to Japan. But we got what we need to up this page a bit... In addition I doubt the etymology of Kisenian as well--the decision to ad the "an" was trying to reflect the "An" in An, as it is in Eil. That throws that out the window according to said interview, i.e. Any etymology would have to be from "Kiseni". as "Fiore" and "Eil" is reflected in fiorieil. This was an interview with the director, Ikuhara... (He said Usagi is an ordinary girl. He couldn't understand why everyone loves her. So he wanted to do a movie to figure it out. I'll see if I can get a direct translation too.) --Hitsuji Kinno 04:17, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Title

If we're going to be moving this article around, let's have it live at what the title actually is, which is Sailor Moon R: The Movie. --Masamage 21:13, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
