As of 2001 India census[2], Sairang had a population of 5036. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Sairang has an average literacy rate of 82%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 85%, and female literacy is 77%. In Sairang, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
