Since the advent of Protestantism in the 16th century, the relations between various instituted churches and their Roman Catholic parentage has brought about the usage and regard for various historical Saints within Catholicism to be regarded as Saints within Protestantism as well. Notable is the usage of Saints in Anglicanism that combines "via media" approach with a unique concepts of apostolic succession that asserts both similarities and differences with Catholicism.
