Saint Patricks College

Saint Patricks College is a private day School located in Gympie, Queensland, Australia. It mainly services the catholic community .

Its main subjects are English, Maths,Science, Studies of Society and Environment (S.O.S.E.) and Religion Studies and Health and Physical Education (H.P.E). However, grade 8 has many more subjects. Some of these are: Japanese, Drama, Music, Art, Wood works, Home Economics, Graphics and Computer skills.
Every subject apart from Maths, English and R.E. is optional when students progress to the more senior grades of 11-12.

- It has 3 school houses; Rice, after Edmund Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers, McAuley, after Catherine McAuley, founder of The Sisters of Mercy and Horan after Dean Matthew Horan the first parish priest of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church.
- It currently enrols about 450 students, most of whom are from Gympie and the surrounding areas.
- Its current principal is David Cuskelly, while the Deputy Principal is Darryl Wease.
- It has a sister school Saint Patricks Primary[1] which enrols prep students and grades 1-7.
- The college has three interhouse sporting carnivals, they are the swimming carnival, (usually around March) and an athletics carnival (around June) and a Cross Country.
- Students from the college have been nicknamed by non St Patricks Students "smurfs" as account for the uniform resembling 'The Smurfs' uniform from the 1980s/1990s cartoon The Smurfs.
