Saint Murtagh

St. Murtagh was a bishop of Killala, Ireland in the 6th century. He allegedly met with St. Columba in the year 575, in a town called Ballsodare. He was also Muredach, and was connected to the royal family of King Lóegaire mac Néill. He was appointed to his position of bishop by St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. He died on Inismurray Island in Ireland as a hermit. His feast day is August 12.
