Saint Mary (Iranian film)

Saint Mary is a 2007 Iranian film, from Islamic Republic of Iran, by Iranian director Shahriar Bahrani, depicting the life of Mary mother of Jesus from classical Islamic readings.

It was filmed in Persian but has been dubbed into English[1] and there is also another version with English subtitles[2].

The film is also known as 'Maryam al-Muqaddasah' (The Honourable/Blessed Saint Mary) and Maryam Moghaddas, Maryam Adhraa and Maryam Al-Muqadasa.

The film was discussed heavily in the August 19, 2007 British ITV documentary 'The Muslim Jesus'.[3] [4]

Along with the character of Saint Mary, this film also presents the Righteous character of Prophet Zacharias, the guardian of Saint Mary.

The Iranian production depicting the life of Mary mother of Jesus from classical Islamic readings. A two-hour long movie originally in Persian and dubbed into English by the Wilayah Network. It is the story of the life of Mary and the birth of Jesus Christ - a prophet in Islamic tradition. Along with the character of Saint Mary, this film also presents the Righteous character of Prophet Zacharias, the guardian of Saint Mary.
