Saint-Sornin, Charente-Maritime

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saint-Sornin is a commune in the Charente-Maritime département in western France.

Saint Sornin is just off the main road between Saintes and Marennes. A beautiul little village dominated by a church that is well worth a short visit. There is only a french bar/cafe and a bakery in the village with closest shops at Marennes. For the camper there is a small campsite just outside the village on the road to Brue. Camping le Valerick is in the camping and caravanning Carefree guide and has placements for about 50 vans and tents. A well established family site. The road to Brue is a dead end but there are some old ruins and a small bird life museaum at the end of the road. Very quaint area. Ideal for cyslists as it is very flat and a nice ride in to Bruage.
