Saint-Médard-en-Jalles is a commune in the département of Gironde and the Aquitaine région of France. Located west-northwest of the city of Bordeaux, it is the fifth-largest suburb of the city and a member of the metropolitan Urban Community of Bordeaux. In the 1999 census, Saint-Médard-en-Jalles had a population of 25,566. The commune has a land area of 85.28 km² (32.927 sq mi).
