Sailor's Creed
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sailor's Creed is a creed of the United States Navy, developed by several Blue Ribbon Recruit Training Panels in 1993 at the direction of Admiral Frank B. Kelso II, Chief of Naval Operations. It has been revised twice; once in 1994 under the direction of Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Jeremy Boorda, and again in 1997. These changes were made to make the creed inclusively descriptive of all hands. [1] The creed is taught and recited in boot camp and officer accession programs. [2] Additionally, the creed is to be recited at the beginning of each training day by all students attending a Naval Service Training Command. [3]
