Sahuaro High School

Sahuaro High School is a high school located in Tucson Arizona and is part of the Tucson Unified School District. It is located on the east side of the city, at 545 North Camino Seco, just south of Speedway Boulevard. The school mascot is the Cougar, and the school's colors are red, white and blue. Famous alumni include former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete[1]. In addition, another notable alumni is John Gonzales, graduate from the U of A and current medical student at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

Winner of numerous Arizona Interscholastic Association awards, including Kino Region Athletic Excellence Award for 1992, 1993, and 1994[2]; winner of the 1992 and 1993 H. A. Hendrickson Award for overall excellence in Arizona fine arts and interscholastic competition[3]; winner of the 1993 Tony Komadina Award for Excellence in Girls’ Sports[4]; winner of the 1994 State Football Championship[5], the 1992 and 1993 Girls’ Softball Championship[6], and the 1993 Girls’ Basketball Championship[7]; winner of the Arizona Association of Student Councils Outstanding Student Council Award, 1979-1996[8]; band, orchestra, choral, and drama programs rated “superior” in local and state competitions[9].
