Sagrera (Barcelona Metro)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sagrera is a station on the Barcelona Metro, on lines L1 and L5.
Sagrera was built as a L1 station in 1954, underneath one of Barcelona's most important thoroughfares, Avinguda Meridiana in the Sant Andreu district. The L5 platforms were added two years later, in 1959. It can be accessed from the avenue and from Carrer Hondures.
At the moment construction in the station is taking place, with a total cost of 87 million euros[1] to turn it into oone of the city's busiest stations: an extension of L4 is being built, and future partially conjoint lines L9 and L10 will have it as one of its stations as well. It will be also served by Rodalies lines R3 and R4[2]. It will be renamed Sagrera-Meridiana to avoid confusion with the TGV train station Sagrera, which is also under construction in the same area and will also be served by a metro station, Sagrera-Tav.
