Talk:SafeCast

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

is it me, or this page is more of a tutorial than an encyclopedic entry? 206.172.19.90 20:48, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

I'll second that. As I see it, the section outlining the removal methods is illegal and should be removed. Anyone have any issues with it being deleted? Spilla 14:09, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Removing SafeCast is not illegal. It will deactivate your product anyway. 66.57.118.220 (talk) 16:36, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

To me these information were very usefull and as I find ppl have a right to know. As I checked they are still correct and 'verifiable'. And hey have a close r look that is no 'tutorial' these are facts with one or two remarks which make them more useful. Explain what action exactly is 'illegal' against the Eula , License Agreement (or whatever that crap is called) that might bring wikipedia in troubles? No binary file is altered, decompiled, disassembled. Truth is not 'illegal'. To me its a great bashness of Macrovision that it disables my AntiVirus Guard to get raw access to my harddisk and writes into critical physical areas and that causes serious damage to can cause in loss of all data on this harddisk. Has macrovision not cause enough pain with it's rootkits 'software'(yes it was macrovision who did it for Sony)?

A user/administator has the right to edit the windows registry, manually to delete files or to do other maintaince work to clean up his system or for fixing errors.

Please speak up if you've anything against undeleting that section.

An encyclopedia is not a how-to guide. This should be removed, it's not encyclopedic. This belongs on a tutorial site. 66.240.35.207 13:56, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
[CW2K]: Outline or make an example what you consider as 'how-to guide' ? I my eye facts are facts and have a right to be in an encyclopedia. And examples make this facts living, more colorful, more useful.I don't see a point why I as a user get brothered by reading that in here so I'll take it in again + a remark that user should write their opinions in here. Are use the marcovision lawyer? If not and you're only worry is to have a link instead of text, It should be a great deal to get this done. Making clear the why would make it even more easy to do.

[edit] Safecast unrelated to FlexLM, not successor

Can someone please cite an authority for the claim that SafeCast is a successor to FlexLM? Macrovision's website seems to have little information on SafeCast, while FlexLM is there. Verilog 20:03, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
