Safra Project

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Safra Project is research organisation concerned about issues affecting lesbian, bisexual and trans LBT Muslim women. The organisation was founded in November 2001 after female members of the then Al-fatiha UK, now Imaan group, after many women feeling their concerns were not being addressed in the former group.

Originally a collective of just three members, the group has grown to include an online e-list and monthly social groups in London and Birmingham (UK).

The Safra Project has produced an initial findings report on the situation of Muslim LBT women in the UK and statutory services as well as a list of papers and presentations available on their website.
