Saegusa Moritomo (三枝守友?) (1537-1575) a famed retainer of the Japanese clan of Takeda during the Sengoku period (16th century) of Japan. Moritomo was renowned as one of Takeda Shingen's Twenty-Four Generals. Moritomo had been the son-in-law of the famed Takeda retainer Yamagata Masakage. Throughout Moritomo's many feats, he would serve during the Battle of Mikatagahara in 1573, and the Battle of Nagashino within the year of 1575. During Nagashino, Moritomo would end up being cut down by the enemy when he had attempted to protect Shingen's younger brother, Nobuzane against Sakai Tadatsugu and Kanamori Nagachika's joint surprise attack.[citation needed]
