Saeed Sulub Mohamed the current Minister of Public Works and Transport, is one of the most important ministers of Somaliland.

The Minister's principal ministerial responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance and Construction
  • Project Management
  • Protective Services
  • Government motor vehicles
  • High ways and other Roads
  • The Electrical Department
  • The licensing Authority
  • Government purchasing (including electronic procurement)
  • Professional practices and registration of professional engineers and architects
  • Property facilities management and property related services for Government
  • Urban design and Government architect
  • Warehousing and furniture
  • Public housing
  • Housing policy

His job also includes him to be satisfactorty in :

  • Public Works Policy
  • Manage the execution of national policy concerning all public works construction by establishing the principles of law and cooperate with the diverse organizations to develop the country.
  • Build, maintain and manage all the infrastructure of roads, bridges, ports and buildings
  • Establish the regulations for the development of the roads, ports.
  • Establish the regulations and control the governmental transports.
  • Participate and cooperate to establish laws, regulations, diverse standards concerning the construction.
  • Realize the other constructions that the Government entrusts to it.

  • Development, Standardization and Maintenance of Roads.
  • Material testing and advice on usage
  • Public works planning and policy development
  • Standardization and Maintenance of Plant and Equipment
  • Somaliland Roads Board or Somaliland Road Authority (SRA)

  • Maintenance of Inventory of Government Property
  • Provision of Mechanical and Electrical Services

  • Co-ordination of Procurement of Common-User Items by Government Ministries.
