[edit] AfD nomination of Heat and affinity
Heat and affinity, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Heat and affinity satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Heat and affinity and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Heat and affinity during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. — Coren (talk) 02:41, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:NG-cover-Feb-06.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:NG-cover-Feb-06.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 23:18, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Indefinite block
The evidence presented at WP:ANI is overwhelming, see this discussion as it existed at the time the block was applied. This account was apparently used to run an Internet marketing campaign within Wikipedia to promote the owner's book, website and fringe theories. - Jehochman Talk 05:25, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- As mentioned here, I have overturned this block as inappropriate and not supported by the evidence cited. This doesn't mean you should be spamming WP to promote your own book, as it appears you have been doing recently. Physchim62 (talk) 16:16, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry Sadi but I have reblocked your account. There is quite clearly community consensus on ANI for the block. You are still free to edit your talk page and I would strongly recommend you post your side of the story here on your talk page and an unblock request, if you wish the block to be reviewed. [edit] Listen up
You have been blocked, and unblocked, and reblocked, for your behavior and your contributions.
The point is, you have been a very useful contributor in some areas, but also a very unhelpful contributor in other areas. You were blocked for your work in those other areas... and you were unblocked, not just because you have done good work in articles on the history of science, but because you had not previously been told to stop.
So. You are now being told to stop. Don't do any more stuff about material that's so controversial that the Mainstream Scientific Establishment Is Afraid To Touch It And Only You Are Brave Enough To Publish Material About It. Stuff that you have published, stuff that you have discovered, stuff that you have deduced or created or otherwise made...
Don't write about it. Don't books that you've published as references. Don't spam. Or you'll be blocked.
This message may be futile, since I have no idea whether you'll return to the project after your article on "human chemistry" was deleted. If you do, I hope you choose to behave. DS 22:45, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration
You have been named in a request for arbitration titled Sadi Carnot. Please visit Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration and consider making a statement per the instructions there. Thank you. - Jehochman Talk 00:40, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Sadi Carnot
Hello,
An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Sadi Carnot. Please add any evidence you may wish the Arbitrators to consider to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Sadi Carnot/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Sadi Carnot/Workshop.
On behalf of the Arbitration Committee, David Mestel(Talk) 19:07, 29 October 2007 (UTC) David Mestel(Talk) 19:07, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Enemies list
Keeping "enemies lists", as you have done at User:Sadi_Carnot/Users, is not in the cooperative spirit of Wikipedia. I've deleted the section on bad users though the rest of the page is OK. Please don't re-add material like that. Raymond Arritt 01:55, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Sadi Carnot
This arbitration case has now closed and the decision may be found at the link above. Sadi Carnot is banned for one year, and the remaining parties are encouraged to "move forward from this unfortunate incident with a spirit of mutual understanding and forgiveness". For the arbitration committee, David Mestel(Talk) 12:13, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- In accordance with the decision, you have been blocked for one year by KFP. David Mestel(Talk) 12:45, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Lemery's corpuscular views
Dear User,
I am currently interested in the article dedicated to Nicolas Lemery and I have seen that your are responsible for editing some parts of this article. Among others, you seem to have added the corpuscular image of acid and alkali combination. May I ask you were you have found such an image in Lemery's works? I indeed have leafed through Lemery's Appendix to a Course of Chemistry and unfortunately could not find any images. It seems that all that Lemery did is describing particles with words, but not graphically. Did you therefore design the image yourself in order to bring a complement to Lemery's discourse?
Yours sincerely, --Finkit (talk) 09:47, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Limerence
An editor has nominated Limerence, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Limerence and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:44, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Feynman-book-cover-pic.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Feynman-book-cover-pic.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
