The following text appeared on the page without explanation. So that nobody else gets puzzlied I've mvoed it here until there is some clarity! A short time since the manager of Sadler's Wells, wishing to make an alteration in his bills, sent an old one with the corrections made in the margin, to the printer. In a few days a proof was forwarded to Mr. T. Dibdin, when it read thus—"Under the patronage of his Royal Highness the Duke of Clarence, Lord High Patron of England and Admiral of this Theatre."[1] --Vamp:Willow 00:10, 9 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- A long time to wait for an answer, but the theatre was at one time fitted with a large water tank, and sea battles and such were played out in it. Kbthompson (talk) 19:09, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
