"Sadie Hawkins Dance" is a song by the Christian rock band Relient K. It was released in 2001 on Relient K's second album, The Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek. The song remains popular among Relient K's fans, and remains the oldest song that the band still plays at shows.[citation needed] "Sadie Hawkins Dance" is currently Relient K's third most popular song on iTunes.[citation needed]
On a post to their official message board, lead singer Matt Thiessen (who also wrote this song) admitted that this was to be the band's music video choice for their second album, but they did not have the budget they wanted, and the song "Pressing On" was chosen instead.[citation needed] The suggested "Sadie Hawkins Dance" video was to star Gary Coleman. [1]
This song was featured in an episode of the show Smallville.[citation needed]
