Saddleworth School

Saddleworth School is a mixed-sex secondary school for 11 - 16 year olds and is located in Uppermill, in the civil parish of Saddleworth in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, England. The school contains approximatley 1500 students and 80 teachers.

The school grounds are large, and consist of many buildings built over a large period of time. The oldest part, which houses the dining hall and some maths classrooms is located near the main entrance. The Main block (English, Maths, Languages, Main Hall & Multimedia Resource Centre), Humanities block and Art block are scattered across the school. The Humanities Block connects to the Sports Hall and Gym. Newer parts of the school include the ICT Block, housing two ICT classrooms, and the new Maths Block, housing two maths classrooms. There is also and astroturf pitch, a grass pitch and easy access to local the swimming pool and running track.

The school is currently a specialist language college and as such is trialing an early GCSE stream for gifted Year 9 French pupils. GCSEs in maths are also being taken one year early by higher-ability maths pupils in Year 9.
