Sadasivan Balaji (born July 11, 1955)[1] is an Indian[1] Singaporean politician and the current Chairman of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization.[2] As of 2007, he serves as the Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Information, Communications and the Arts.[3]
In March 2008, PM Lee Hsien Loong reshuffled his Cabinet, which resulted in Dr. Balaji losing his MICA portfolio whilst retaining his post at the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

After graduating from NUS in 1979, he continued his education at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in Scotland, becoming a Fellow in 1984, and trained at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan from 1985 to 1989. He worked as a neurosurgeon until 2001, publishing over 50 book chapters and journal articles.[3]
